Alagappa University (ALU), accredited with ‘A+” Grade by NAAC (CGPA: 3.64) in the Third cycle of Assessment and Graded Category I University by MHRD-UGC is located at Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu. Alagappa University was brought into existence by a Special Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu in May 1985 with the objective of fostering research, development and dissemination of knowledge in various branches of learning. This University has emerged from the galaxy of institutions initially founded by the great philanthropist and educationist Dr. R M. Alagappa Chettiar. The University has secured 36th position among Universities in India in the NIRF 2020 by MHRD.
