National Engineering College (NEC) was started in the year 1984 by Kalvi Thanthai Thiru.K.Ramasamy with a vision to provide quality education to the rural people of Southern Tamil Nadu. NEC has attained its Autonomous status from the academic year 2011, accredited by NAAC and NBA. NEC has secured 189th Rank among Engineering Institutions in NIRF 2020 Rankings in India by MHRD. NEC also has been categorized as 'Band A' institution (ranked between 06-25) in the self-financed Institutions in ARIIA 2020 Rankings in India by the Ministry of Education. NEC Central Library acts as a knowledge hub for NEC academic activities with a mission to provide knowledge gateway to the user community with the state-of-art technologies.
